Step 1.40: Backlink Data

Core Concepts | Tracking Performance | Baclink Data

Like keyword ranking data, you are going to have to pay for this through a tool, again such as Raptor, that can provide you with this data.

Having access to this data is more important for larger sites, but that is not to say that smaller sites can’t benefit from it.

Types of Backlink Data

There are many components to backlink data, typically you would expect to see the following type or category of data:

  • Authority of backlinks
  • Trust or Quality of backlinks
  • No. of backlinks
  • Source URLs of the backlinks
  • Target pages of the backlinks
  • Anchor text of the backlinks
  • Type of backlink (follow / nofollow)
  • Type of backlink (image, text, etc)
  • Type of backlink (HTML, JavaScript, redirect, etc)

We cover these in more depth later in this guide.

Competitor Backlink Data

Without access to not only your backlink data but competitor backlink data, some strong and simple SEO techniques for building links will be unavailable to you.

All backlink tools give you access to both you and your competitor’s data, but you will need a tool for this.
