Step 1.15: Direct Ranking Factors

Core Concepts | Search Engines | Direct Ranking Factors

Direct ranking factors are the specific components that the algorithm considers when ranking sites within the organic SERPs.

There are many of these factors and we won’t list them all here, but some of the most important are things like:

  • Click Through Rate (CTR) - this is the percentage of people that click one of your organic listings out of all the people who saw the listing.
  • How authoritative your site / a page is – we cover this topic next!
  • Keyword usage within your website’s components
  • Perceived relevance between your content and the search query

These factors are directly considered by Google’s algorithm.
