Core Concepts | Search Engines | Optimisation

Optimisation: “The action of making the best or most effective use of a situation or resource.”

Now that we have ticked off quite of a few of the basics, we can now start to get a little deeper into the topic. In this section we look at what ‘Optimisation’ really means in the context of SEO.

Again, we break this down into on-page and off-page optimisation as they really deal with very different concepts and play distinct roles in the overall SEO strategy.

When we talk about ‘optimisation’, we are more often referring to the concept of optimising something for a keyword or keywords. But in the broader context of SEO as a whole, optimisation could refer to almost any of the techniques employed in SEO.
