Using videos is highly valuable and provides an improved user experience in most cases. People are more likely to watch them, than read text, especially on long content pages.
There are a few components to videos (like images), that you should be aware of from an SEO perspective:

Video File Size
videos can be large in file size, we measure this in Kb (Kilobytes) or more frequently in Mb (Megabytes).
File size impacts load times, and this is a hugely important direct algorithmic ranking factor due to its impact on the user experience.
There aren’t many guidelines that surround video, but these are still relevant to any site owner.
- Use your own videos (don’t copy or steal them!)
- Use them to enhance content
- Keep videos as small as possible in Kb
