Page Title (Length)

This is the length of the Page Title tag contents in characters, including letters, spaces, numbers, special characters, symbols and punctuation. Raptor’s web crawler calculates this value and makes it available for download when you are exporting reports.

 

Values Returned

Within the column for ‘Page Title (length)’, there four values that can be returned for this which are as follows:

Number

A number representing the amount of characters within the Page Title

“”

When the contents of the Page Title tag is empty

Missing

When the Page Title tag is not present on a HTML/Text page

 

If the URL is not a HTML/Text page or is inaccessible

 

What We Do

The number of characters including punctuation and spaces of the page title.

Detail:

This number of characters that we count in a meta title, otherwise known as a page title, is based on the characters highlighted in red in the example below:

  • <title> Awesome Product | Best Price + Why us | Brand Name </title>

There are 50 characters within the text “Awesome Product | Best Price | Brand Name” when you include the spaces, pipes or any punctuation & symbol.
