WWW URLs

WWW URLs

‘WWW URLs’ are URLs that are accessible using the ‘www’ such as https://www.example.com

What Is WWW?

WWW is an acronym for ‘World Wide Web’ and is a prefix to a URL such as:
https://www.raptor-dmt.com

The video below shows where to find this data in our software and what it means.

Why Do We Show You URLs with WWW in them?

There is really only one reason to look at this and that is for canonical duplication issues. It doesn’t matter is your site uses www or not, the only thing that matters is that the site uses only one version. If your site is accessible from multiple URLs then it can suffer canonical duplication issues.

The image below shows you how many URLs we found using the www:

You can use this to identify if there are any duplication issues. There is no real advantage to using either, but we prefer not to use the www to keep the URL shorter as this can impact click through rate. But the mere presence of the www has no demonstrable affect on SEO.
